At the very least, all service leavers have completed basic training. They have been given a sense of purpose and direction and they have been pushed to their physical and mental limits.
Whether they were a basic soldier or had a career with 30 years of military experience, they have all been tested and challenged to the extreme throughout their time, in ways the majority of others have not.
Many of their skills are readily transferable into the civilian working environment.
They are trained to deal with the unpredictable and unexpected situations, these individuals are creative, dynamic and effective.
From the early stages of their training, they have to make decisions that may have life or death results. They take on and carry this level of personal responsibility and use their extensive training to guide them to their best solution.
Flexibility and adaptability
Being adept to changing roles every few years, ex-services can adjust quickly to new circumstances and blend in with the new demands.
Ex-services are well known for taking on new and sometimes demanding roles of responsibility under often intense circumstances, acting with courage to complete a given task.
