    The Role
    Due to an internal promotion we have a vacancy for a motor claims engineer within our team in Bristol. This is a challenging and rewarding role where the successful candidate will be responsible for the desk based assessment of vehicle and machinery loss and damage, the provision of technical services and support to the claims teams and a first class service to our members.

    Job Specification
    The main duties for this role will be:

    Remote inspection of damaged vehicles and machinery
    Negotiation and approval of estimates and invoices
    Negotiation and agreement of valuations
    Provision of clear, concise technical reports to the Claims Department
    Maintenance of records and returns as required
    To meet agreed service standards
    Development and maintenance of positive working relationships

    Person Specification
    The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate:
    An understanding of the construction, mechanics and repair of motor vehicles and/or agricultural machinery
    Experience of digital image and electronic assessment of damaged vehicles
    Experience of developing and maintaining key working relationships
    Good communication, negotiation and decision making skills
    A positive outlook along with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving.

    A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above to include English and Maths
    Substantial estimating experience in a formal workshop environment
    Modern Apprenticeship in automotive engineering or motor vehicle body repair (Desirable)
    NVQ Level 3 in Automobile or Agricultural engineering or equivalent, (Desirable)
    ATA Vehicle Damage Assessor or working towards it
    Corporate membership of IAEA or working towards it.
